Youth Accounts

Members ages 0-11 years old can start saving with ease. Pioneer Valley Credit Union will make the initial $25 deposit for members under the age of 2. A great way to save for your child's college education to help pay for expenses such as tuition, supplies, books and more. Save up to $2,000 annually per child. Only $10 is needed to start an Education Savings Account today.

 

*No purchase necessary. Must be a member or child of a member to participate. Keepsake gift available until supplies last. Each participant must submit original artwork which is either painted or drawn by the artist on paper not to exceed 20x24 inches. All entries must have the name, age and contact information on the back of the artwork to be considered. Entries must be brought to 246 Brookdale Drive, Springfield, MA 01104 to the attention of Kari Welch by August 24, 2019.

Student Essay Contest for 7th and 8th Graders

Each year Pioneer Valley Credit Union participates in the Cooperative Credit Union Association Student Essay Contest for 7th and 8th grade students attending schools in Massachusetts. The program generally runs at the end of each year and winners are selected and awarded at a ceremony in the spring of the following year. Credit union members and children of members are eligible to participate in this wonderful program for a cash prize.

Teen Savings/Checking Accounts 

Becoming a teenager is an exciting time at Pioneer Valley Credit Union for our members ages 16-17. Members in this age group are able to open a savings account, a checking account, receive an ATM/Debit Card, access their accounts online with ValleyOnline Banking and with the PVCU Mobile App. We provide services to help teens save by using their direct deposit to allocate funds into their accounts for what is important to them. Whether it is a set of wheels, prom or going off to college, we can help! These great services are available with the guidance of a parent or guardian.

Each year Pioneer Valley Credit Union awards four well-deserving high school seniors scholarships to help with the rising cost of a college education. Students selected can receive up to $2,000 or more in scholarship funds. The program generally runs at the end of each year and winners are selected and awarded at a ceremony in the spring of the following year. Credit union members and children of members are eligible to participate in the Scholarship Program.
